Ransomeware and Crypto-locking malware: A discussion on how to protect yourself and your company.

Ransomware and crypto-locking malware are currently one of the top attacks used by cyber criminals. The methods used to get onto endpoints continue to evolve in sophistication and evasion. In this session we will discuss a brief history of the EDR/XDR market, where the evolution is going and how Incident Response plans play a key role in effectively dealing with ransomware. We will also discuss practical real-world situations and we can defend against them using a unique approach to stopping ransomware before it becomes an active threat.

Jason Graun is the Sales Engineering Director of the Fortinet EDR/XDR team. He brings over 20 years of experience in information security and has spent 7 years at Fortinet. He regularly speaks at industry events, CIO/CISO summits and works closely with IT executives to understand the business challenges they face in securing assets across an ever increasingly mobile workforce. Jason’s focus is to find ways technology can solve the biggest challenges in information security, he also holds a patent on cloud security malware inspection methods.
